Implementation of a 3D Virtual Tour as a Promotional Medium for Marine Tourism Using the Extreme Programming Method
Main Article Content
Abstract
Various tourist attractions in Majene Regency and Polewali Regency—many of which are marine-based—attract both domestic and international visitors. Due to their coastal geography, both regencies feature a high concentration of marine tourism destinations that showcase scenic seascapes. In recent years, the number of tourists visiting Majene and Polewali regencies has declined by approximately 0.3 percent in Majene and 4.05 percent in Polewali, largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to implement 3D virtual tour technology as a promotional tool for marine tourism. The research employs the Extreme Programming (XP) methodology for system development. Feasibility testing indicates that the 3D virtual tour system performed well: the system interface received an 83.5% approval rating (categorized as "strongly agree"), service-related aspects scored 82% ("strongly agree"), and system efficiency achieved 83.63% ("strongly agree").
